Special Purpose Acquisition Company

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) introduced a listing regime to allow Special Purpose Acquisition Companies (SPAC) listing and fund raising in Hong Kong.

Unlike an ordinary listed company, a SPAC is set up for the purpose of acquiring a company within a pre-defined time period after listing. Before the completion of the De-SPAC transaction, the subscription and trading of SPAC securities are limited to professional investors only.
