What do moms want for Mother’s Day?

Being a mom means being busy all the time. Many moms find themselves having juggle work, handle daily household chores and help with their kids’ homework. With Mother's Day approaching, it is time to show our appreciation for our supermoms who have shown us much love and care. What do they want?

If you looking for gift ideas for this Mother’s Day, according to an online article I read earlier, instead of flowers, home appliances and jewellery, mothers think the best gift would be “a good night’s sleep”.

Being a mom isn't an easy job, and it is particularly challenging for the many sandwich generation moms in Hong Kong who have to take care of their parents and children. Many may even have to juggle a full-time job along with family commitments. A study conducted by the IFEC shows that 70% of sandwich generation parents in Hong Kong feel the financial stress from having to provide for their children’s education, household expenses and their own retirement.

As a student, I cannot help much financially, but I have reflected on my attitude towards life and my mom, and try to find ways to show my care to the most important woman in my life.

Last night, I gave my mom a big hug and asked her if she was tired. She just smiled and said spending time with us was priceless.

4. A day off: let your mom be the queen for a day by taking care of the chores so that she can enjoy the precious me time.
5. Sweet words: who doesn’t like sweet words? A simple “I love you” or “I will learn how to save and manage money” will make your mom’s day.
6. A hug: give her a big hug to show your love in the most expressive way.
